Hi Jacob, please tell us a little bit about yourself

I am Jacob Aguila and currently live and grew up in Baldwin Park.
I have 6 siblings of which 4 are brothers and 2 are sisters.
One of my favorite sports besides Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is basketball.

What classes do you take and what got you interested?

I am currently enrolled in the adult Jiu-Jitsu program at Silanoe Martial Arts. My brother Isaac inspired me to join because he first started training Jiu-Jitsu with professor Gino in 2015, my dad and I joined soon after that. We have been 100% in from there and have not stopped since.

How long have you been training now and what is your belt color?

I have been training Jiu-Jitsu for three years now. I am a blue belt with 3 stripes.

What accomplishments have you been able to attain in Jiu-Jitsu?

I like to compete regularly and have managed to get 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal. 1 gold was at the World Championships of the SJJIF and the silver medal was at the Jiu-Jitsu World League World Championships.

What current and future goals do you have?

My current goal is to compete more this year and give Jiu-Jitsu everything I have every day. My future goal is to stay the White Belt that never quit all the way up to Black Belt.

The word around the gym is that you are one if not the toughest Jiu-Jitsu player at Silanoe Martial Arts. What is your secret?

My secret to being good in Jiu-Jitsu is simply to not stop training. Consistency is the most important aspect of getting good at Jiu-Jitsu. Training is key in Jiu-Jitsu.
