Congratulations to Student of the Month: Alex!
Hi Alex, can you please tell us a little bit about yourself?
I like to ride my bike, do Jiu-Jitsu, swim, play video games, and take hikes. My favorite things about these are that it is relaxing and keeps me occupied when I have nothing to do on weekends.
Why did you start training Jiu-Jitsu?
I started doing Jiu-Jitsu because I needed to exercise after swimming.
When did you start training Jiu-Jitsu and how often do you come to
class?
At the end of Aug 2018, I started training. I only come once a week on Saturdays.
What is your favorite part of the Jiu-Jitsu class?
My favorite part of the Jiu-Jitsu class is the sparring. I love this because I can learn my partner moves and learn from my mistakes.
What do you like most about Professor Gino’s teachings?
I like Professor Gino because he explains the moves in a way that I can understand him if I have trouble he comes and helps me.
Questions for Tony Alex’s dad
What improvements have you noticed in Alex since he’s practicing Jiu-Jitsu?
Alex’s self-confidence has greatly improved.
You, your wife & both sons do Jiu-Jitsu together, how has that been going and do you practice together at home?
We love doing Jiu-Jitsu as a family. Unfortunately, we don’t practice at home due to our busy schedules, so we look forward to our Saturday mornings together. Once the boys get older, it would be great to share some mat time together.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
As a family, we have all benefited from Jiu-Jitsu in different ways.
Saturday morning is a family activity time for Alex and his family.
Alex his mom Phuong, dad Tony and younger brother Charles are all training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. If you are looking for a family activity you should consider Jiu-Jitsu. It helps teach kids discipline and self-confidence. It will help them stay in shape and focused on school. We have added classes so don’t forget to check out our updated schedule or request a Free Week Trial. You are always welcome to get to know other Silanoe Martial Arts students such as Nicholas F. or Wah Wu.
